May 2026 16th to 31st

May 16th- May 22nd

“Mercury Forecast I will just say a mixed bag. Warmth, sun, rain, wind, hail, and snow,”

Yep it is May and in May we can have all four seasons in one month. And we did.

May Long weekend is something i have liked for years. Keith & Jenny and us would go even before we had kids. We had a tent and Keith slept first a tent then in the back of his truck. We both moved to tent trailers which were awesome. Later into Rv’s.

We have experienced all seasons and have had a blast every year,

This year we had 41 people sign up to come and even with the unpredictable weather we had 38 people show up plus 4 more for a day visit during our games.

I used to focus this weekend on golf but slowly it has evolved. I should correct that maybe not focused on golf at first but heavy drinking, partying and enjoying the outdoors. Then focused on golf later. Then more of a focus on family fun. The last couple of years we have had our own Olympics which has been fun. The only issue is trying to get a spot for everyone as the May Long is in high demand. It was frustrating and extremely hard to book anywhere until I discovered Alberta Parks allows a 180 day booking window for a group site. So we had two years at Glennifer which was great but I found Jarvis which is equal and has power which in spring is nice if not needed. This is our second year and most likely again next. The only negative is having to put a $900 deposit down and then collecting that and the additional fees which total approximately $1650.

It was funny this year as everyone paid up very fast which for me is nice as I hate chasing. Only one slow couple. I tried to send a anonymous email to Alan & MaryAnn pretending to be a collection agency with a demand letter but didn’t want to download another app. I am not sure of the timing but later discover they sent a e transfer by text. I hate text for anything so rarely even check texts and in a lot of cases trash unknown texts. Smoke signals, cans with a strings, then text so really antiquated and archaic. Everyone else sent theirs via email which is the easiest and most efficient method. Having said that text with it’s one to one encryption is considered a touch safer way as it is more difficult to hack being transmitted this way. Lucky in this case as it came up with a odd number as the sender I didn’t trash it. First e transfer text I have seen. So everyone made my life easy paying up early.

We left fairly early yet when we arrived Corey & Victoria and Keith & Jenny already had their units all set up and settled in. It is a huge lot with the power poles spaced all around the permitter. Nice and warm and sunny on arrival. It was a steady flow of people of arriving and finding their spot. We had Corey and Keith splitting power and had no one had any issues.

Jessica’s trailer has it’s quirks. It had the black and red wires reversed for the battery and has a odd hot water bypass setup. I helped them get all set up and we had a few struggles. First getting the system to pressurize. Back and forth with the bypass levers and then I discover they had the tank valve open so as soon as you turn on the pump it just pushed water to the ground. They will need to be careful in the future as you have to be SURE their is water in the HWT before turning on the gas or electric. They did not have. Then the furnace wouldn’t work. It took a while to get this figured out. I originally thought a broken thermostat but then discovered their batteries had no power. You have to have 12v for the ignitor to work. Alfred thought they may have a hidden battery disconnect as they said they had charged the batteries. Sure enough in the front storage bin they had one. It is only used if you leave your batteries on the tongue all winter. They must have turned it off at sometime. With the 12V and gas without a air gap both the hot water heater and furnace all is working. A little work but all figured out. Lesson here is everything should be checked before leaving. Is there water in the hot water heater, are the batteries charged and working, furnace lightning and working and most importantly fridge working. I will change that, is the fridge working and is your trailer level. A few hours of running out of level destroys an RV absorption fridge.

Everyone this year brought a lot of wood. But we were unlucky as in the evenings it rained or drizzled so we did not get a chance to burn a lot.

We changed our games day from Saturday to Sunday as the weather was supposed to be better. So people played cards, went into town, sat around the fire or just visited most of the time.

Sunday morning was our pot luck BRUNCH. Over the years we have had some amazing potlucks with a Italian theme, or Greek, or Mexican, or Chinese etc but I thought we would try this as it is one of our favorite potlucks in Arizona. Ok I will say it. I was not impressed this year with our Brunch. The selection and options offered were under whelming. I will go back to a supper themed pot luck for the future. While I am sure everyone was full it was just not up to par. I think our Italian themed one was best.

Then off the games. We had plenty of games and just about everyone participated. We were missing Jason our round robin guru so Keith stepped up and with help from Justin and ChatGPT they were very organized in getting everyone doing the games in good order. The games were a lot of fun but my team was robbed.

The games are made for kids and adults and everyone had a blast.

No participation medals this year which is what I like. First Second Third and losers is natures way. I have to give special props to the winning team.

Saturday night we watched the Blue Jay game, and the Montreal game. And our big event the Rhonda Rousey fight. Lasted 17 seconds. Disappointing. Stewart and Carrie always bring their TV for us to watch ( usually the Oilers) but this year forgot it. Now here is dedication. They wanted a new one for their lake lot so went in to Red Deer and bought a new 55 inch for us to watch to the games. That is amazing.

Even the two youngest thought camping was great.

Victoria took her new role ( my appointment) as a entertainment director for the group seriously. Victoria had the whole cook shake decorated and bought a trophy and medals for the games. The best was the torches for the kids to have a opening ceremony. This was awesome.

Typically when you get a lot of RV’s together inevitably there will issues. Break downs, dead batteries etc. This year we had one broken toilet, and one split tire causing issues.

It was a great group to get together. I liked the fact the entire Willard family was there. Mom would have liked that and would have enjoyed the event a few years ago herself. Below is Graham showing Mom how to shoot a compound bow at our last Willard campout.

We also had few of the Huggett family there ( missing 8) and the bulk of the Harry family there.( missing 2 )

I hope everyone had a good time.

Alan & MaryAnn have gone with us to numerous different spots after the long weekend. This year we chose Red Lodge Provincial Park. This is a great campground with very nice treed and separated lots. No senior discount, 15 amp power with showers and dump station not working should be a reason to lower the pricing but did not happen.

Interesting river thru the campground called the Little Red River. It is a windy little river that is 220 kilometers long. It feeds into the Red River that is 2000 kms long. Pretty neat stuff. We had wonderful walks along the river, thru the trees and campground. Both Tia and Daisy loved it.

The 15 amp breaker caused us issues. We put bags over the post trying to keep water out but still the load couldn’t handle anything. We made it work but it dumb to require a turning off furnaces or fireplaces to keep from blowing the breaker.

The first night we headed to Boston Pizza to watch the Hab’s game. To see very few people supporting the only Canadian team left was disappointing. More room for us. I ordered the Smoky Spaghetti and as usual it was great. Plus enough to take home for lunch the next day.

Next day a field trip into Innisfail to check out the Heritage Museum. I phoned and confirmed we could carry our dogs thru complex. Before going we stopped at Petro’s Pizza & Steakhouse. I will say this. The portion size, the presentation and most importantly, the quality and taste was a 10 out of 10. I ordered off the seniors menu one of my favorites the Salisbury Steak and unbelievable is the only word to describe it’s goodness. Everyone’s meal was huge and delicious. Alan’s Greek Pita was huge and looked great as did MaryAnn’s quesadilla.

The Museum for a small town was exceptional rivalling Heritage Park or Fort Edmonton. They had 17 historical buildings full of antiques displayed extremely well. Cost was only $5 per person. Loved the tour and the displays.

One unfortunate incident was somehow a mouse got into Alan’s & Mary Ann’s motorhome. I am extremely impressed with their courage and willingness to handle it. No one likes mice but they took charge and over came any fear. We stopped in Innisfail and picked up some snap traps and I had some bait traps we used. First night he/ she ate the poison. Second night the snap trap took him/her out. Once again extremely impressed in how they handled it.

Each night we played games. One game called Play Nine Alan was sick. It is the low score that wins and Alan after nine holes only had 9 points. Most of us were 50 to 75 points. Huge horseshoes.

The final night it was tied with each of us having the exact same number of wins. Then in crib it was MaryAnn and I against Alan & Jackie. MaryAnn and I killed them winning by a skunk which is two games as a win. Nice way to finish !

We didn’t have great weather but we had fun doing different things, going out to eat, watching hockey games, playing card games, eating excellent home made meals, walking, and visiting.

A easy drive home. We unloaded the excess food etc at the condo and I headed out to put the motorhome away. I am out by a 1/2 inch or so of plumb to my deck but dropped the levelers and headed back to town.

The Hab’s destroyed the Cane’s . Very nice to see and a great start.

This morning I headed to the lot to start spring cleanup. A little tentative not knowing how I could or would handle it. I started work at 10 am and worked until 4 pm. I did not stop for one break and worked all day. I ended up with five huge bags full of leaves, trimmed all of the grasses, raked the grass and bushes to the leaves out and blew the entire lot to get rid of the sticky buds. I quit with one bag left to do and about a hour of leaves left in the back portion of the lot.

I was extremely pleased with my condition. No actual surgery pain, no back pain and relatively good stamina. Very happy. Not sure of our plans but I hope to finish this weekend.

I had another talk with BMO on Friday and an email today. They are the biggest joke of a company I have run into. Once again complete denial of facts and throwing up their hands. I have to check into a banking ombudsman as I have nowhere else to go within BMO. It has been a pleasure dealing with Scotiabank except for their non English speaking estate manager.

We watched the missed episode of Sullivan’s Crossing. One of our top 3 shows to watch, It was a good one. We watched the season finale of Survivor our favorite reality TV show which was excellent even though I wanted someone else to win. Watched a very good episode of the Sheriff. Then fell asleep in a cold bed, tired.

Thought of the Day

Today I bent and moved like I have not done for 5 weeks and felt pretty good about it. This morning I dropped my phone near my bed, looked at it, couldn’t bend and said “We had a good run buddy “

I think spring is FINALLY here as we have had very poor weather. Just a gorgeous day. Jackie was busy with Audrey all day so I headed out to the lot to do more spring cleanup. My body handled day one quite well other than getting tired after 6 hours of work. Made me think of last year when Corey and I worked 12 and 15 hour days to finish a shed. I was far from that today. I worked another 6 hour day with no stops but was tired. Surgery area felt decent the rest of the body good but just lack of stamina. By the end of next week I am thinking I will be back to normal.

When leaving this morning Jackie says don’t overdo it. My response is if I overdo it I will dead. I will only do what I can.

A good day. I got the entire yard all cleared of leaves. I raked and fertilized the lawn. I trimmed the bushes. I loaded 6 large recycle bags into my Jeep and headed to the dump. Ramming those bags into the back of my Jeep reminded me the difficulty I had with a Magnum condom. Got them all in though and slammed the door shut.

I pressure washed the shed, the gazebo, chairs, decks etc. Then started to unpack all of the furniture. I did an amazing job of securing them this year which means more difficult getting at them. I pressure washed the furniture and deck mat and strategically placed them to allow me to get around to place everything in it’s spot. Couch’s and chairs are a little cumbersome. I pressure washed the kitchen but as I was leaving I missed a section so paper towels and cleaner. I watered the lawn trying to get it to green up. I sprayed for weeds but will require a redo in a few days. It is the clean up part I hate. Tarps, covers, etc . I got tired and just packed them away, stashed until I get back.

Still surprising to myself my lack of energy but I will fix that.

Dealt with BMO, Scotiabank and Kal Tire today. All trying to get something done. 2 out of 3 not bad.

I came back and Jackie was working like a mad women on our condo deck cleaning. It is amazing the amount of dust over the winter it can collect. She did an awesome job plus she had a delightful supper for us tonight.

Tomorrow morning we are going to watch Corey run a full marathon. That is 26 miles or 42 kms. To me that is just sick. First I do not believe it is actually good for anyone to do and is an absolute insane amount of running. I could and can only dream to be able to do it as it is only an elite athlete that can. To watch Corey do this will be inspiring and a moment of pride for us to even know someone that can do it.

Thought of the Day

Running a marathon is like eating a huge pizza. You know it is going to hurt later but you can’t stop once you are started.

May 24th

“Mercury Forecast Edmonton 20 degrees, Calgary 23 degrees, Mesa 36 degrees”

Today was Corey’s big day. A 42.2 Km marathon run.

We picked up Jackson and made our way to the finish line to watch Corey and see Tor, and the moment we arrived, the atmosphere hit us like a wave. Thousands of spectators packed shoulder‑to‑shoulder, buzzing with anticipation, cheering for strangers as if they were family. There’s something humbling about standing among that many people, all secretly wondering the same thing: Could I ever do something this hard? I know I couldn’t.

By some miracle, we found a parking spot instantly — a small victory in itself — and luck doubled down when a golf cart whisked us straight to the event. That alone felt like a sign the day was going to be memorable.

We found Victoria and carved out a perfect viewing spot to watch Corey come in. Corey is in phenomenal shape, but what really struck me was the sheer variety of runners around him. Some looked like seasoned athletes; others looked like they’d fought every mile with nothing but stubbornness and heart. Yet there they were, crossing the same finish line. That’s the magic of a marathon — it’s not about looking the part, it’s about surviving the journey.

We met up with Shawn, who had been running with Corey until cramps forced him out of the full race. Even then, he gutted out the half marathon and finished. That alone deserves respect.

But Corey… he was something else. He came into the finish chute strong, steady, and determined — the kind of finish that tells you he didn’t just run the race, he owned it. He crossed the line in 4 hours and 9 minutes, a legitimately impressive time. Recreational runners typically land between 4 and 5 hours, with the worldwide average around 4:29. Corey didn’t just meet the benchmark — he beat it.

And here’s the part most people don’t fully grasp:
Running a marathon is not just running. It’s a controlled breakdown of the human body.

  • Around mile 18, the glycogen tank empties. That’s when the infamous “wall” hits — legs turn to concrete, the brain starts bargaining, and every step becomes a negotiation.
  • Hydration becomes chemistry, not guesswork. Too little water and you cramp; too much and you dilute your electrolytes.
  • Muscles tear, feet blister, and joints swell.
  • Your mind becomes your biggest enemy, whispering that stopping would feel so much better than finishing.

A marathon is 42.2 km of physical punishment held together by mental grit. It’s not just a race — it’s a test of who you are when everything hurts and quitting would be easy.

That’s why watching Corey finish the way he did was so impressive. He didn’t just complete a marathon. He conquered one.

Awesome job. Truly amazing.

The place was packed. Great entertainment, lots of people watching and some incredible athletes.

After the event and another wonderful ride in the golf cart back to our cars we decided to to go for lunch on a patio rather than have food from a food truck.

We choose Montana’s patio but arrival it was still closed with no furniture out yet. A quick change of plans and we headed to State & Main. Wonderful patio with PVC pull down curtains but today we had them raise them to get the sun and breeze.

Our celebratory dinner for Corey’s success was awesome. Great waitress, even a beautiful dog on the patio and wonderful food. Cold beer after a run with water thrown in hits the spot. Corey felt pretty good which is incredible.

Our Frigidaire Dishwasher finally gave up. 4 months short of 20 years old and finally the motherboard gave up and is discontinued so can not be fixed.

Luck of the day we found an expert at Home Depot that was a huge help. Not only knowledgeable but easy to deal with. Our decision was to buy Frigidaire again as the last ones were incredible. We went with the Gallery Series which is the upgrade high end and I think we will be happy. We considered Bosch but with Frigidaire stove and fridge it made sense.

She was very accommodating and when I questioned a $50 charge for pickup she allowed it to be charged out a .01. Small things matter. I think us and her felt good about transaction.

I think one think a lot of people forget is that is not about the price. It is about the value perceived or not that makes for a happy customer. I will gladly pay more if I feel I receive some kind of added value.

A fun day.

Thought of the Day

Corey told his friends he was running a marathon. They said, “Wow, 26 miles?” He said, “No, 26 water stations. The running is just how I get between snacks.”

We all know the saying time flies.

Today is the 8th anniversary of the passing of Peter. It is odd how such events are marked in your memory, what you were doing, where you were at etc.

I worked at the lot for 6 hours again today but came home without being dead tired. Nice to see the change. I got a lot done. Nice also that it was warm but not hot as the breeze and clouds kept it cooler. I still have to figure out my water pump. I gave up for today until I do a bit of research.

Installed the window covers, installed the wheel covers, hooked up the power and water and the sewer line. I got my black figures installed. Did a lot more cleaning, Reconfigured my irrigation lines and all ready to install the timer when irrigation is on a set schedule.

I sent another email to BMO at 11pm last night and received another one back again without resolution or apology and suggesting I take it to the ombudsman. It is a point now. No money involved or anything of value that we know of but at least apologize for making an error. I will accept that. Apologize for not managing their fiduciary responsibility of the safe keeping and tracking access to a box and state they will look procedures and policy to not have this happen again to anyone else. it is quite unbelievable.

Music awards were on tonight but the show was horrible. Lousy songs and most artists I haven’t even heard of, Good thing for a great Habs game,

Finally spring weather if not summer weather is hitting us.

Today was my first attempt at golfing after my surgery. I was tentative but after the first hit knew I was going to be ok. Ironic the pain I feel I discovered is the scabs breaking up and off every time I bend. I forgot my instructions to apply Vaseline. Jackie cut a couple off for me which helped.

What a spectacular golf day with it being warm but a breeze to keep it cool enough. The first nine I was happy with shooting a 40 with a few dumb mistakes and knowing I could go lower as the back has a few Par 5 I usually do well at. But the back nine bite me a bit with a lost ball and just a few misses. I was impressed with Jeff’s golfing today. He didn’t score well but played extremely well. Jackie had a great game with some awesome shots. Wendy struggled today but it is just a matter of time to figure out her hip movement with the replacement. A very fun day golfing and finishing in 3 hr 45 mins which is awesome.

We sat outside for supper on the deck. Beautiful night and it was meant to be as the special was a steak sandwich and Coor’s Light beer. It was calling me.

We sat beside a group of about 7 seven guys. Shocked. I know when women get together it is annoying to listen to the high pitched whining and laughing at a decibel level that is deafening but these guys were worst than that be far. Loud, obnoxious, noisy and gave you head ache listening to them. Always the loudest a 5′ 5″ guy that wants to appear manly. You missed that boat buddy so sit down and shut up. Our group all felt the same way. I was disappointed and shocked really. It wrecked a night out on the deck for us.

Doesn’t this group look sad waiting for their drinks.

After golf the Graces met us at Audrey’s to be witnesses to some documents that needed to be signed. Daisy was in heaven meeting all of these people.

First thing this morning our new dishwasher arrived. Tomorrow they remove the old one.

Next Kal Tire and i managed to get a hold of the manager and while on the hone he put thru my charge in error and the credit.

Then dealing with the estate lawyer. Mom’s estate is very small but the bank still required it be probated. Our lawyer is indicating they want to hold the dollars in trust and disperse. Basically acting like an executor and making money off the disbursement charges and holding the money in trust for future payouts. Money grab in my mind so i disputed that and am waiting for their decision. A small estate and agreeable executors there is no reason for the lawyer to hold the funds.

I did not win my BMO issue. It comes down to the fact BMO lost Mom’s deposit contents, have no record of a closure or non payout and have absolved themselves of the issue. My only path forward now is the Ombudsman. I will see about going down that rabbit hole.

It is like companies have forgotten what customer is, what respect is for a career, have no checks and balances in place, and take no accountability. It has become a rampant epidemic in our business culture.

I had a good meeting with the Travel Lady a travel agent in town that is well known for her appearances on the morning news. I meet with a consultant not an agent and am waiting for a follow up. Looking at the leaflets I received it is pretty interesting. Very very expensive, a lot different that our normal cruising but elegant, fine dining, wine and spirit events and every excursion included. Even WIFI included, They even have bikes on board to use when we stop in a city. It will be a relaxing and more of a cultural trip but quite unique. I am looking forward to the info and in retrospect the trip as it celebrating my 70th birthday, our 47th wedding anniversary, and Jackie’s 67 th birthday. The only thing I do not like and we will see about that is the different rules and regulation around tourism in Europe. I know England is a complicated mess for Jackie to go back there ( as she was born there) so we have to make sure to land in Europe but 7 or more countries on these ships I am hoping they have some kind of easy visa or pass that works.

We have to get a few big trips in as time is flying and aging out for travel happens quickly. I want to be able to ride a bike all day beside the Danube not be stuck on a boat due to being feeble and old.

It is the 18th year anniversary since my first Hole In One today. It was with jeff Grace at Speargrass Golf Club. Hole number 7 about 137 yards with a PW hit popped up once and in. It was pretty exciting !!

Speargrass gave me this wonderful trophy with my ball I used in it for my first hole in one. The second one on Hole #14 they gave me a Pin Flag signed by my play mates.

The Habs are not cutting it and unfortunately I think it will be a series that they will look back on and wonder. To get 12 hots in a game in three games in a row is not performing well.

Summer is natures way of saying ” here have a sauna all day long “

May 28th

“Mercury Forecast Edmonton 30 degrees, Calgary 27 degrees, Mesa 32 degrees”

Just when you think winter will never end we get the weather we wanted weeks ago. I would not mind 30 degrees everyday ( cooling to 10 at night) with a rain day every 5 th day. The perfect scenario but unfortunately we don’t get to chose.

Today was my men’s league first golf game for me. I will start with the finish. All four of us played horrible today. In fact it was one of the highest scores for each of for a long time. The course was immaculate and the weather golf perfect. We all just had moments that were not good. My one partner had three 10 ft attempts at a deuce and missed each one. A good $50 or more not obtained.

Why would this happen? Well I won’t make excuses, I did not really feel any pain. It was only my second game after surgery. It was just a day where I sucked. It was a day where my three partners joined me in our misery.

Jackie and I were talking and we had a good laugh as she said it is in your head. I have always believed mind over matter but every Thursday I typically have a poorer game than normal. So I need to heed my own advice and smarten up. It must the huge dollars available to win. Next week.

I asked Jackie if it seems to be a confrontational world lately. Or is it just me. I sure hope it isn’t something I am doing. I enjoy a good round of confrontation but it does it get tiring.

At least 3 interactions to get a credit done to my credit card from a local tire shop. – something like this should be done immediately not requiring multiple requests

At least 15 interactions trying to get BMO to find out where Mom’s security deposit box contents are — to have a company not having any documentation with signatures of the closing or forfeiting the box is unbelievable and i am shocked the run around giving in such a important matter.

A couple of years of a monthly calls harassing us on the permitting of Jessica’s house. A over jealous building inspector that got carried away. A out of plumb door hanging and he says the building is settling. Small hairline cracks in the cement the floor is dangerously settling. 6 years and finally over.

At least 5 interactions with a law firm trying to rack up a bill and take control of disbursements. -I should have known when we first approached this law firm ( Mom & Dad’s firm) they were a little shady. They tried to charge a 1% of total estate plus fee. When I discovered on their own webpage they were a flat rate no percentage company they quickly pivoted. Then threats and a attitude that is very unprofessional when they wanted control. Final interaction with more attitude and back tracking on everything including not following court orders. ( I checked our grant and she was just using another empty threat) Not professional at all

I will say this. The Bank Of Nova Scotia has been amazing. Proactive, involved, communicative, helpful and accommodating. Some would say because Jackie is a Scotia employee but this is not the case whatso ever. It has been a real pleasure dealing with them.

New dishwasher all installed and Jackie says very quiet. The Home Depot buy experience was awesome, delivery was perfect and install with take away was done wonderfully.

Pretty cool every area is the same temperature. That doesn’t happen often.

Beautiful, perfect, summer all are descriptions of these weather. But just wait

It gets ugly on the weekend yet we need the moisture. Would be nice if was constrained to evenings. LOL

Running out of time. It just seems so busy lately. So today as Jackie was busy with Audrey I headed out to the lot to bring color and plant before the moisture.

The selection at Home Depot was the best I have ever seen. Either flower sales are down, people are planting later or have cut back. The pricing wasn’t drastic compared to other years. In fact I spent less this year than prior years but I bought more smaller flowers. In fact I bought Geraniums for $1.98. They are small but with fertilizer and water will grow fast. The only shortage of product was the purple Dracaena I love.

I was worried about my water pump. I spent about an hour and Yahoo finally I got it working again. I had to clean the filters, I double checked all valves, filled the tank and tested and tested. I believe it might have had been a air lock. Relief !

It was warm but the breeze kept it cool.

I had to bring my digital water timer home to program it. I have misplaced the instructions and it is a timed sequence and reading a PDF on the phone isn’t easy to read. 2 zones and 4 times per day function.

Only took me about 10 minutes but it is all set and ready to go.

Jackie made us a perfect summer supper tonight. So delicious.

Fingers and toes crossed the Montreal Canadians win tonight.

Thought of the Day

I told myself I’d get a “beach body” this year… so now to find one to sit at. Mission accomplished.

May 30th-31st

“Mercury Forecast Edmonton 22 degrees, Calgary 17 degrees, Mesa 32 degrees”

Stepped outside today and it is freezing. High of 17 degrees, I don’t think so.

Jackie had a longer walk than normal on the ridge with two ladies from the condo. Jackie does a lot of steps every day. And Daisy loves it.

The Habs were really outplayed. Such a good young team but things just didn’t work out. The Hab’s were the last Canadian team in the playoffs and were the last Canadian team to win the cup. While looking at that stat I discovered Edmonton Oilers last win was 1990 and the Flames in 1989. The Flames are doing great when you look at that stat.

Off to Walmart and Sobeys today. I was surprised at the lack of crowds today. Both stores were really slow. Not even line ups at the till.

A rather slow relaxing day waiting for the storm to come.

Watched a great movie.

Up this morning and the weathermen were finally correct as it was 5 degrees, very windy and raining. No walk this morning with that for Daisy.

Loaded up everything we needed and headed to Audrey’s for a get together to celebrate a few people’s birthday. It is funny watching all of the kids hitting 30 years old and starting out at life with new home purchases, fences and having babies themselves.

We had Audrey, Jackie, Larry, Alan , MaryAnn, Corey, Jackson, Danelle, Justin, Kristen, Sheldon Silas and Emery with us today.

A very nice brunch with an excellent birthday cake but we forgot the ice cream in our freezer.

Always to nice to see the group together.

My lens was a little smudged so I will only load this one pic. I will check to see if Jackie took any as they will sync to our google photos.

It rained however very lightly all day. Not enough to flood as the news people were suggesting and scaring people. And people were buying it. I was surprised so many people driving with it being so dangerous. Not !
